Summer memories

The Finnish summer is pretty much gone and we're moving towards autumn, so I thought this would be a good moment to look back and reminisce the summer days ^^ I have been very inactive with photographing during the summer, which is quite sad since I had so many ideas and plans on my mind... But there's always next year! :D

Anyway, let me share some photos that I took in mid July when I was at my parents' summer cottage!

***

Just one photo of Kaori :<

Funny fact: those white bokeh things are actually two swans that were flying over the lake X'D Their reflections show up as bokeh on the water too, lol.

I forgot to take extra clothes for Momo (besides the beach flip flops), so that's why she's still in her default gear in these photos ^^; I would've wanted her to wear something else, but oh well, she still looks cute :D

Am I the only one that gets a "goodbye summer" vibe from this photo? ;___;

As an extra photo from the cottage...

...have some camera-shy ducks :'D They were swimming towards our dock, but turned away when they saw me with the camera XDD

I also have some swan photos from Helsinki! Me and Sarg were just randomly walking when we came across a swarm of Canada Geese AND an adorable swan couple with four little cygnets ;___; ♥♥ Luckily I had the camera with me, so I managed to get some quick photos. I'd never been so close to a swan before, they're such majestic creatures!

One of the geese decided to photobomb when I tried to get closer, thanks a lot... =_=

Hope you all had a lovely summer! ♥

Cherry blossoms 2017

Me and Sarg visited the local cherry blossom park a few weeks ago and got to see the lovely flowers in full bloom \o/ I guess visiting there has become a yearly tradition for us, I've also made a post from our visits in 2016 and 2015.

The weather was very sunny, which made photographing quite a challenge... Half of the time I couldn't even see the camera screen properly, lol. It would've been nice if it was at least a little bit cloudy ^^; But still, while some of the photos failed miserably, some turned out quite nicely!

I had one of my DD girls with me~ It was hard to choose which one to bring, but I ended up picking Shira since I thought this yukata would look great on her :3 And I haven't taken any proper photos of her yet, so it was her time to get some attention!

All the pictures of Emi turned out quite crappy and overexposed :<  I'm a bit sad about it, especially since I had just gotten that cute Pureneemo sized parasol and you can't really see the pretty flowers that Sarg painted on it...

I made some Picconeemo sized yukatas recently and thought that these colors suit Rina-chan perfectly~ I'm also really happy that Azone released those zori sandals in Picconeemo size! ♥ Ended up ordering a bunch of them, they can easily be colored with acrylics too for more different colors *3*

I also took some photos of the flowers itself. Cherry blossoms are so beautiful, I wish we could have one (or two, hahah) of these trees on our own yard ;___; ♥

Summer photo spam

I have some summery photos to post from a few weeks ago when I was at the summer cottage :) Although there aren't that many photos, it took a while for me to go through all of them and edit the best ones. I already have more photos that I should make a blog post for, so better get these out of the way now :D

First of all, let's take a look at Hespera, my Souldoll Aehael~ I've cut her wig and she now has her own eyes too (which she stole from Sarg though :'D), meaning that her styling is slowly coming together. The clothes actually belong to my other doll and I was supposed to make something different for Hespera, but looks like she really likes this kind of clothes so I might end up with another cute mori girl ;3; It'd actually be easier if Hespera could share some clothes with Lisanna, though we'll see if any of these clothes will actually fit the Vito female body!

I'm satisfied with the photos that I took of Hespera, but I wish I could've taken more ;___; The amount of mosquitoes near our summer cottage was INSANE on that day, I only lasted outside like 10-15 minutes before giving up and going back inside... Even then I was full of mosquito bites and having really sensitive skin that's not fun at all >:I  Buuut at least I got some nice photos of this cutie ♥

Up next, we have some Neemo photos :3 I got a few swimsuits both in Pureneemo and Picconeemo size quite a while ago, finally had the chance to actually use them! I've been wanting to take some photos of the Neemos swimming and although it was a bit challenging due to the wind and constantly changing lighting, I had so much fun! \o/ I really wish we had a prettier "beach", but the water is so high that it's mostly just rocks...

Miu and Yui had their own flamingo float! :D

Taking photos of these two in the lake didn't succeed so well... At this point it was quite windy and the little ones floated too far in a second XD But at least this one shot turned out okay!

As a bonus, I also have a few non-doll photos :D

Lil froggie was jumping around on our yard~

I also saw a cute lil lizard when I walked past this rock! It was really fast and ran away right after hearing my camera shutter, but luckily I managed to get this one photo XD Though I wish I would've been able to get closer and get a better pic!

Hopefully I manage to edit the next set of photos by Friday, as we'll be away for the weekend again. And then I'd have yet another post to make and get even more backlogged >3< We'll see!

White blooming elegance

More photos from last weekend~
There's this massive apple tree near our apartment, right next to the bus station, and we've been wanting to take some cute photos of our Pureneemos there while the tree is in full bloom. On Sunday evening we had a perfect moment for doing that, since the whole town was probably watching the Ice Hockey World Championships Final and not many people were outside :D Only a few people walked past us while we were taking the photos! The location is really pretty and I hope there'll be time for taking more photos later, before all the lovely flowers are gone.

We decided to go with my Totori and Sarg's Ritsuka, since they both have cute hairbands with animal ears x3 Toto is channeling squirrel, while Ritsuka's theme animal is white wolf.

While Sarg was posing the dolls for me, I took some photos of the blossoms itself~ Surprisingly when I checked the camera after getting back home, there were more blossom photos than photos of the dolls >_<; Guess I got a bit carried away with the beauty of the tree... I also should've taken a photo of the full tree from farther away, since it was truly a beautiful sight.

I visited my parents on the weekend and it was a big surprise for me to notice that even the apple trees on their yard are blooming, which hasn't happened in many years! I'm stalking if those trees get enough flowers for doll photography purposes, it would be great to be able to take photos with them as well since they have cute pink flowers! ♥ But the trees are quite small and I didn't see too many buds in the branches, so they might not look spectacular even in full bloom ^^; We'll see a bit later!

Lol, I feel like I've been neglecting my BJDs (besides Carmen) quite a bit lately... It's just so easy to go to places with Pureneemos or Picconeemos since they're so small, or even Dollfie Dreams since they're so light-weight! I love my BJDs a lot too, but especially the bigger ones can be difficult to carry around... If the weather finally allows us to have a picnic meet-up on the upcoming weekend, I'll try to take some of my resin dolls with me >3<

Cherry blossoms!

On Tuesday I visited a cherry blossom park in Helsinki with Xaya! We spent around 3 hours there, just taking pictures :D The time sure went fast and we had fun. Got pretty nice pictures as well! There were over 200 of them in my camera, so going through them and picking the best ones took quite a while XD

We've been planning a little picnic meet-up with friends for Saturday, but the weather forecasts are promising rain so we might need to move our picnic to another date :/ We specifically tried to have the picnic meet-up when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom and after the upcoming weekend all the flowers might be gone already... But now that I got some pictures taken in advance, I don't mind if the weekend turns up to be all rainy - we can have our picnic whenever the weather seems better, without having to worry about the cherry blossoms. There is still one day before Saturday though, so let's keep our fingers crossed for the weather forecasts being wrong! >3<

Back to Tuesday and the photos~ Be warned, this entry is going to be picture heavy :D Check out Xaya's photos from the day as well!

Last year's cherry blossom photos:
Hanami meetup with friends (meet-up & flower photos)
A thousand cherry blossoms! (photos of the dolls I had with me)

You could notice the beautiful cherry trees in full bloom even from farther away! It was a beautiful day, so there were many people having a picnic, sunbathing, walking and taking pictures of the flowers or themselves/someone else with the flowers :D

When we got closer to the trees, I took many photos of the flowers at first and even forgot about my dolls for a bit X'D The cherry blossoms looked so gorgeous! ♥ I wish I could have my own garden full of them, though I generally don't like gardening at all...

It was hard to take close-up shots of the cherry blossoms, since it was quite windy XD

There were mostly just petals on the ground, but I managed to find one full flower too! :D

We also saw a pretty butterfly! ♥ Thanks to my macro lens, I managed to get a pretty close photo x3

There were also some cute squirrels around the park ;3; Or maybe it was just one squirrel, not sure. Anyway, managed to snag a picture of this cutie as well~ I tried to get a bit closer after this photo, but the squirrel decided that I'm getting too close and ran away ;___;

We walked around the park a bit and saw this little building - the walls were painted with familiar characters from Studio Ghibli movies (Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service).

Then, finally some doll photos! :D

First up is Miu! ♥ She's wearing a yukata that I made :3

Hikari and Mimi, the two Pureneemos that I brought along~ They have these matching kimonos with frill hakamas, so I wanted to get a nice photo of them together x3

Maru-chan~ Her yukata is made by me :) I'm also waiting for a blue Azone kimono set that I won from Yahoo Japan recently, shame that it didn't arrive in time for these photos since the light blue color is more Maru... Everything I touch tends to turn pink, hahah X''D

Last but not least, I had Kasumi with me~ She's wearing a gorgeous dress that I got as a gift from Irene ;3; This is maybe a bit too sweet for Kasumi, as she prefers a bit more mature clothing (as mature as hime gyaru can be), but she works as a model so it's not completely OOC for her to be photographed in clothes like this! Anyway, I'm absolutely in love with this dress, it's one of the most beautiful pieces of doll clothing that I own~ ♥

Here's a group photo of the smaller dolls we had with us. Xaya's lovely Emmi and Mimmi, my Mimi, Hikari and Miu ^^

Xaya also had these two cute Tinyfairies with her!

And that's all! Hope you enjoyed the photos :3 It's really sad that the blooming of the cherry blossoms doesn't last for long, I'd love to take photos in those scenery every day XD Already looking forward to next year~
