Independence Day

Today we're celebrating Independence Day here in Finland and I wanted to take some photos for the occasion :) Pureneemo Raili always makes me think of Finland and in fact, they've written on their page that Raili is an exchange student from Finland, so of course I chose to take pictures of Sayuri~ This lovely Swan Lake version worked perfectly for what I had in mind for photos since the default gear has the colors of Finland's flag (blue and white) and swan is Finland's national bird! I still haven't changed her clothes since I love this default outfit so much, lol...

The weather hasn't been the best possible for photos lately - it's been really gloomy and rainy, and there hasn't been a lot of natural light. Luckily that wasn't much needed for these photos, as the Christmas lights brought enough light, tripod was a lifesaver and Photoshop did the rest XD I'm quite happy with how these turned out~

Me and Sarg will spend the rest of the day doing some sewing and crafting and we'll also watch the Presidential Palace's Independence Day reception from TV, like every year! It's inspiring to see all the gorgeous evening gowns that the invited guests wear and there are also quite amusing ones among them...

I also started playing Tomb Raider (2013 version) yesterday~ I've been watching some gameplay videos of the sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider, which was released for Xbox 360 and Xbox One last month and I'm sooo excited about it!! The PS4 won't be released until late 2016, so I need to unleash some of my excitement by playing the first game XD We have it for PS3, but it's still such a great game and one of the best ones I've ever played~

  1. Awww! I don't usually care about Indepence Day so much (except it's a good doll day as it's always a holiday xD) but Saiyuri is so cute! And hey, Raili is Finnish <3

Love the twin buns on her!

    1. Thank you! I actually thought that she's just holding the flower and admiring it, but she could be giving it to someone too D: I wonder who the mystery person could be...

If only we got some snow here, I'd love to take some photos outside >.< There hasn't been any snow in the Southern Finland yet, we'll see if we get snow before Christmas...

  7. Happy Independence Day! ^__^/~**
I've always been intriqued by Raili, as she indeed is a Finnish exhange student according to Azone International. I definitely want to own a Raili too, because of the Finland-connection. :D

Swanlake Raili is definitely a fitting representative for the Independence Day! Beautiful photography, as always! <3

It's so cute that Azone has such a character, I wonder why they decided to make her Finnish :D Hope you get a Raili some day too~

  8. Ah but your Raiili looks lovely in these photos. Reminds me a lot of a white Christmas, something that is virtually unheard of where I live given that the heat sky rockets at this time of year and it's summer here so Christmas is usually swimming the pool or chilling in air-conditioned homes. I'd love to have a white Christmas one day though but I'd have to go to another country for that!

I still think her hairstyle is one of the cutest.

    Happy Finnish Independance Day!

Hubby actually told me he won Tomb Raider on PC (the newest one - I think it's that survivor type one but I can't recall which year or anything) so I have that waiting to be played too. I agree with you, TR was one of the best games released. Back in the day, I played it on the playstation. It's nice to see the franchise is still kicking around. I watched some old Youtube gameplay videos of the second TR game and the music and graphics made me so nostalgic.

    1. Thank you so much :) There's still no snow in Finland either (at least in the Southern Finland where I live), usually this time of year we've had some snow already... We'll see if we get a white Christmas, I'm hoping to get some snowy outdoor photos, but so far there's been just rain and mud :/ Hope you get to have a white Christmas someday too! ♥

I think I might be a bit addicted to making this hairstyle for my dolls, let's hope that I don't end up over-using it XD

Oh that's cool, congrats to your hubby! :D Hope he likes it! I haven't played any of the earlier Tomb Raider games before this reboot of the series, but I'm really loving the style of the game!

It's fun that both of our countries have the same national bird! ♥ I agree that swans are such majestic birds, one of my favorites~

  11. Raili is so cute--I love her blue and white color combo and the roses in her hair! Your Independence day sounds so fun--ours is always hot and noisy; I think a fancy ball would be far nicer. Also a swan is a wonderful national bird! The different states here have their own birds, I don't know what Illinois bird is (though it should be the redwing blackbird, they are everywhere here) but as a kid in California it was the quail, which is the bird equivalent of a Pureneemo. :D I hope you had a wonderful day!

    1. Thank you~ We had a great day :3
Oh that's interesting about the birds for each state! I had to Google now that I got interested, it seems that the Illinois bird is actually Northern cardinal - such a pretty red bird! ♥ Wish we had such colorful birds here >3<
