Little café meetup

We had a small meetup with some friends yesterday :3 There were seven of us: me, Sarg, Tiinyan, Elina, Jaya, Spica and for the first time also Xaya! Janina was supposed to come too, but couldn't make it :( Hopefully next time we'll see her too!

Spica suggested that we could visit a contemporary art gallery before going to a café and we all agreed that it'd be a great idea! I'm usually a bit sceptical about art these days, but this Sensual World exhibition really blew me away, as the art looked just amazing O3O The artist (Emma Ainala) is clearly very talented and has her own unique style.

Taking photos was allowed, so have a few pics of the gorgeous artwork!

If you're interested, you can find more art and info about this exhibition here :)

After the gallery visit, we started looking for a café somewhere nearby and found Café Ekberg. It seemed like a nice place and there was enough space for all of us, so we decided to go there. The waitress kindly combined a few tables together to form one long table for us. I didn't realize to take a photo, but I ate a huge chocolate croissant - it was super yummy~ ♥

The lighting at the café could've been better when it comes to photography purposes, but I managed to get some decent shots to share!

There was this chocolate-themed art piece on the wall!

We had three Kikipop dolls at the meetup! (Sarg's, Spica's and Elina's)

Spica's lovely SQ Lab/MDD hybrid~ (You can also see me there in the background wearing white clothes XD)

SD sized anime dolls from three different companies - Azone, SQ Lab and Volks.

Picconeemos~ ♥ Miu and Hisui met a new friend, Koron in the center belongs to Tiinyan ^^

Spica's cute Tsukiko ♥

Jaya's Kiseki :3

Xaya's adorable girls, Mimmi and Emmi ^^ Loved seeing them in person~

Jaya's Dragos!

...Oh wait what's happening here?!

Spica's lovely little fennec fox ♥

Little fox matched nicely with Tiinyan's Viola :3

Tiinyan's lovely Maya also seemed to like this little fox ^^

Sarg brought her Naked Snake figure that tried to "blend in" with the other dolls by being more kawaii... :'D

The others seemed to accept this weirdo well, hahah...

Miu noooo, please don't take the knife O__O

Here's a group photo of all the dolls ^^ We had quite a nice variety of different doll types and sizes!

Thank you guys for the super fun meetup, hope to see you all again soon!! ♥♥

  1. Wow but those are some really interesting pieces of artwork.

Dragos has such a presence in this group of dolls. Looks like a fun meet. I love the variety of dolls that were there! And thanks for the shot of the Azone, DD and SQLab dolls together. I had been curious how they compared.

    1. I think so too! I haven't visited any art galleries in ages, but maybe visiting them every once in a while wouldn't be a bad idea ^^

He sure does :D Most of the dolls were cute, so he really stands out. It's always really fun to see many different kinds of dolls at meet-ups, though it only means that there are a lot of temptations... I'll try to take more comparisons of the 50cm Azone with DDs sometime later :)

Miu behaved surprisingly well in this meet-up! XD She made a few new friends, so maybe being with them she didn't have time to be hyper active...

      Thank you ^^

  3. Wow, I adore the artwork, it seems quite influenced by dolls / fairy tales and quite surreal also x3 ~
The meet looks great! Spica's Fennec Fox is possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen! @o@

    1. The artwork looked awesome! If I had such talent at painting, I'd love to create something similar XD

I love those little fennec foxes~ I've seen a few for sale lately and it's been tempting, seeing one in person certainly didn't help with resisting hahah X'D

Hyviä kuvia! Olen vaikuttunut, ilmeisesti se linssi-objektiivi juttu mitä käytitte on tosi valovoimainen! :D Ihana kuva myös Mimmistä ja Emmistä <3 ^__^

It was really fun :) Maybe instead of a chicken hat, Snake could get a cat hat in some game?

    Viola sopi kyllä tuon Spican pikku ketun kanssa todella hyvin yhteen ;3;

    1. Kiitoksia sinullekin ^^ Miiteissä on kyllä aina niin mukava päästä hipelöimään kaikkia erilaisia nukkeja! Tytöt (ja Snake..) kiittävät kehuista ♥

Ehkäpä Viola jossain vaiheessa alkaa vaatia omaa pientä kettua? ;D

  10. Yay thanks again for the meet and I'm super happy you liked the art exhibition since I dragged everyone there! :D
The small art galleries in Helsinki (and elsewhere) usually display the most interesting and surprising stuff and they are worth to check out even though you wouldn't so fond of the mainstream contemporary art usually found at art museums.

These photos are awesome, I especially love the ones of my fennec and Tsukiko! <3 Also kawaii nekomimi-Snake-chan is so epic! XD

    1. The art exhibition was a great idea, I'm glad that we visited there! :D I haven't visited many art galleries, definitely not the smaller ones at least, but I think I should visit them more often.

Glad to hear that you liked the photos ^^ Kawaii Snake-chan sends you hugs hahah XD
