Little Miu came with us as our "traveling mascot" XD Unfortunately this was the only picture of Miu that we took during the trip, though ^^;; We had planned to snap a quick photo of her in many different places, but in the end she stayed in her little travelling bag for most of the time... It was for her own security though, it was quite crowded on the ship (many people have their autumn holiday now) and there are always annoying drunken people u_u But I do have pictures of our shopping haul!
The main place we always want to visit is Kangadzungel, a big store with all kinds of different fabrics and crafting supplies. We've visited there many, many times, but the selection never ceases to amaze us XD They had one floor full of stuff that was 75% off the prices and combined with the already cheap prices the stuff was basically almost free ^^; On the main floor they also had this campaign that you get 50% off if you have their client card (which we do!), so we got more stuff for cheap too!
Here is our combined haul, though this time most of it is mine ^^;
Sarg wanted to get some felt for making cute cat mascots and maybe some other animals too! The blue polkadot fabric is hers as well. I got the black & pastel fabric for Jade, since it looked like it'd fit perfectly for her pastel goth style :) The crown patch applique and most of the cabochons are for her too, the grey & white one is for Sarg's Umbra. The laces and other stuff are for general use!
Closer look at the smaller things~ Bows, roses, studs, cabochons... The leopard print jewels are for Zinnia and my upcoming Iple girl, Katherine ;3
Besides the sewing/crafting stuff, we also shopped for some other things!
Here's the souvenirs we brought back! Sarg bought that "All Sorts" candy box for her dad, I got the Smarties tube for my brother and "Old Cars" candy mix for my parents. My mom also asked me to bring her that face cream, since it's much cheaper on the ship than in the Finnish stores.
Of course we couldn't resist getting some candy for ourselves too ^^;; We bought all this from a supermarket in Tallinn, the prices were super cheap compared to Finland! I love Kinder Chocolate so I caved in and got two packages... I also thought that those fruit pixels looked funny, so I wanted to try them out. Sarg chose Miisu and Mesikäpp candy for their funny names and pictures XD
Another thing that we bought from the supermarket were these bottles of water in blueberry and peach flavor *o* We bought them last time we went to Tallinn as well and it was great to notice that they were still selling the same products! These taste amazing (as you can see, they're empty hahah), wish we had them in Finland as well ;___;
We also went to a store called Accessorize, they sell jewellery, bags and other accessories. There used to be Accessorize stores in Finland as well, but for some reason all of them are gone now :/ There were these cute animal-themed things (for kids, ahem...) and I fell in love with this little penguin, it's actually a little coin pouch! I also got a bracelet - I can use the animal face charms for making doll necklaces :3
A close-up of the bracelet, it has deer, owl and polarbear faces ^^
Another nice find was this pair of stylish rubber boots! ♥ Rubber boots are quite mandatory during the rainy autumn and I hated my old ones, which were so ugly... I'm really happy to have found these, they're so pretty that I could even go to school wearing them~
Here's what Sarg found :) The Kuromi pouch and Hello Kitty pencil case are from a Hello Kitty store. I still can't believe that I managed to get out from there without buying anything, though I almost caved in with a few plushies... They had dolphin and jellyfish Hello Kitty plushies, can you believe that XDD
She also found a new winter coat (not pictured) and a nice warm scarf to go with it, as well as a bracelet and necklace set! ♥
Overall, it was an awesome trip ^w^ We'd love to go on a cruise to Stockholm (Sweden) at some point too, but that'd probably require us to stay there overnight (which would cost more :/) since there's a lot more to see! Maybe that'll happen during some other holiday~
The cruise sounds fun~ Looking at all the candies made me hungry... And I love your rain boots, they're very cute! ^-^
ReplyDeleteIt was really fun! Hahah I always get hungry just by looking at candy pictures too XD
DeleteI've never seen rain boots in such cute style to be honest, I was really surprised (but happy) to find them :D
What are cruises like? I've never been on one and I get really seasick so I never know if they're different to smaller boats/ferries.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you both had a great time with some retail therapy! I adore that bracelet. Looks like something I'd wear.
And the drinks, were they like flavoured water?
Cute Hello Kitty stuff. I've just recently started buying stuff from this brand myself. I bought a plushie the other day and a t-shirt. The design is just so cute.
There are different kinds of cruises offered here, but this one took about two and half hours for each way and then we had around 7 hours time to spend freely in Tallinn before getting back to the ship. On the ship there's not much to do, there are some restaurants, bars and cafés, as well as a little store where you could buy cosmetics, alcohol and candy. Most Finns tend to enjoy getting drunk and/or bringing a bunch of alcohol back home, the prices are much cheaper on the ship (and in Tallinn) compared to Finland. Me and Sarg usually just sit somewhere in the ship and chat, the time goes surprisingly fast even if we don't really have anything special to do :D The ship is quite big, I think this one has 8 floors. If you've seen the movie Titanic, that ship is similar to this one!
DeleteIt was definitely fun, especially since they had such great sales going on XD
The drinks were like flavoured water, yes. Sooo good! ♥
I love Hello Kitty, it's just a shame that the products are quite expensive :( I'd love some more plushies and other stuff, but I try to contain myself because of the prices...
Hi Safir,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous way to enjoy a day out with Sarg. Nothing quite like shopping to give a girls spirit a lift. I didn't know they had shops dedicated to Hello Kitty, how ever did you manage not to purchase anything in there?? Wish we had one day cruises here, you are so lucky.
Hugs,
X
Definitely, it was so much fun ^w^
DeleteI don't think there are any shops dedicated to only Hello Kitty here in Finland, but there is one in Tallinn and it's always great to go check it out! I have no idea how I managed not to buy anything from there, I wish I could've bought the whole store though XD Maybe there was so much to choose from that I found it easier not to get anything, since I just couldn't decide...
Cruises look like a lot of fun, but there's none here haha xD
ReplyDeleteYour trip seems like it was a success! so many beautiful things~ I love the penguin coin purse :D! I have a pink one with glitter but it's so old it's falling apart XD I need to get me a new one soon haha
Hope you get to enjoy more of these trips soon!
Aww that's a shame :/ Luckily Helsinki is right by the sea and there are ships going to Tallinn and Stockholm.
DeleteIt was a success indeed, so many sales going on too! The penguin coin purse was so adorable that I just couldn't leave it to the store hahah XD
We'll see~ It's not so nice to go during the winter since it's so cold, so we probably won't make another trip until next spring. That'd be a great time for the Stockholm cruise though, but we'll see, we'll see XD
Woo, awesome haul! Tallinn has the best craft stores, I want to go too xD <3
ReplyDeleteAgreed, the craft stores are the best! ♥ The sales they have are sometimes crazy XD
DeleteWow this seems like so much fun, a one day trip to another country :D
ReplyDeleteThat shop sounds super dangerous XD Like the fabric market in Taipei.. or Nippori fabric street in Tokyo ToT there were sooo many cheap cute fabrics and lace things for sale there~~~
Oh yeah! There's lots of accessorize shops in my hometown as well, but they were also a bit pricey. I als love their stickers and kid stuff the most though xD;;; Do you also have Claire's in Finland?
Seriously, don't go to Asia XD there's dedicated Hello Kitty and also Ghibli shops here T^T;;
Love your new rain booties @o@
Yup :D Tallinn is so close that it only takes a few hours to get there by the fast ship.
DeleteOh yes, I'd probably faint if I got to visit some places carrying fabrics in Tokyo... The selection in Tallinn is so big too and I can only imagine how many cute fabrics there must be in Tokyo D:
The kid stuff and stickers on Accessorize shops are the best, I felt so sad when I heard that they're shops in Finland were closing permanently :( I guess they didn't have enough customers or something, there's a lot of competition. Sadly we don't have Claire's here either ;___;
Yeah I know XD I've seen photos of the Hello Kitty and Ghibli shops in Asia and WOW! I'd probably never be able to get out from them...
Hih thank you, I find them really cute~
Suloisia ostoksia! ♥♡♥♡♥ Hirmusti söpöjä askarteluut ja nukkrjen vaatteisiin sun muuhun tulevia juttuja (?) ;3 Sekä paljon karkkia, hmmmmmm♥♥♥ Söpöt kumpparitkin oikein nwn~~
ReplyDeleteKiitoksia :3 Juu askarteluun ja nukkejen vaatteisiin tulee suurin osa näistä, karkit tietysti omaan suuhun hahah :D
DeleteHope you have enjoyed the trip!!
ReplyDeleteYou got tons of pretty things, but the bracelet and the rubber boots where my favorites :3 Poor Miu that had to stay on the bag, but I think it was the best if it was so crowded!
We really did!
DeleteI can't wait to make some cute necklaces from the bracelet! And now I'm almost waiting for some rain, so I could use my new rubber boots hahah XD
I was afraid that someone might try to steal little Miu or she might get lost somewhere, so it was probably for the best that she stayed safely in the bag u3u
Niin paljon kaikkea ihanaa! ♥ Nyuu~ Miisu-karkkeja! *3*
ReplyDeleteNuo Miisu-karkit oli niin söpöjä XD Maistuu aika jännälle kyllä...
DeleteVau miten mahtavat tarjoukset kangaskauppa-pitsihärpäkekaupassa! Ihanat ostokset kummallakin. :D Pitäisi tässä taas joskus päästä Tallinnaan ostoksille. Pingviini on ihan supersöpö!
ReplyDeleteNojoo ja sitä tavaraa oli paljon! Aiemmilla kerroilla on tullut hamstrattua paljon enemmän, päästiin hyvistä alennuksista huolimatta aika vähällä tällä kertaa :D Olisi aika metka joku nukkeilijoiden yhteinen ristiretki Tallinnan kangas/pitsi/härpäkekauppoihin joskus~
DeleteIhania ostoksia!
Hei, minulla on tuollainen samanlainen Kuromi-pussukka, jee! ^3^ Se on oikein kätevä kun menee esim. pyöräilemään~
IHANAT saappaat! <3
Kannattaa ehdottomasti joskus reissata Tallinnaan!
Awesome haul! :D
ReplyDeleteI've been to Tallinn once and it is so nice *^^*
Good to hear you guys had fun and that you bought so much awesome stuff XD
Hehe thanks :D
DeleteSometimes it would be nice to spend a longer time in Tallinn, so that there'd be chance to explore more new places~
