Christmas aftermath

So, Christmas came and went, I hope that all of you had a great time :) I definitely enjoyed spending time with my family - we ate traditional Christmas food, visited the graves of my grandma and granddad, watched TV and chatted a lot. Presents are not such a big part of our Christmas these days, it's more about just being together. My brother and I used to gets many presents when we were kids, but nowadays our parents don't really know what they could buy us if we don't wish for anything specific... And I rarely have anything to wish for and I couldn't really ask them to buy me any doll/figure related stuff XD Buuut I got a pair of nice warm socks that my mom had knitted and two pieces for my Nomination bracelet, as well as some movie tickets from other relatives :) Also, our friends Janina and Patrick gave us some chocolate, candy and necklaces, mine's a cute Hello Kitty ;3; Awesome presents! ♥

I also had Susumi with me and took a few quick pictures ^3^ I had made a Christmas outfit for her and Sarg made cute hair bows and a necklace to match with everything. I also changed Susu's wig for Christmas, this one's a limited color from Leekeworld~

It would've been nice to spend more time photographing her with all the Christmas decorations my folks had put up, but the camera battery ran out :/ The charger broke just before Christmas, so I couldn't load the battery either... Tomorrow I'll go get a new charger, it has guarantee for 3 years and broke within a year, so I'll get a new one for free. I feel like all technology gets broken so easily nowadays u_u

Took a few photos of my dog as well, her name is Tea ^^ She lives with my parents, but I try to go visit her whenever I can~ I would love to have her home with me all the time, but I thought the environment at my parents' place would be better for her. She has gotten used to the big house and own backyard where she can run free - our apartment is much smaller and I wouldn't be able to let her out of the leash here. Even though she's really obedient and well-behaved, she might not obey  me since her hearing is not so good anymore ^^; She'll be 11 years old in March! My dear~ ♥

Only a few days of this year left! Am I the only one who feels like the time has gone way too fast? I really need to get started on writing those doll year and plans posts if I plan to post them during this month :D

  1. Susumille sopii todella hyvin tämä Leeken peruukki! Tosi nätti väri, sopivan jouluinenkin ^^ ♥ Harmi, että kameran laturi kuoli :( Jotenkin kyllä tuntuu siltä, että kaikesta elektroniikasta halutaan tehdä ehdoin tahdoin vähemmän kestäviä...

Ihana Tea! Saiko hänkin joululahjoja? :3

  2. Tea is gorgeous :D!!! She looks younger than She is too~

The year definitely wernt way too fast! I still can't believe it! I'm trying to do as much as I can so I don't end the year as a lazy ass XD

Susumi is looking super cute with her christmas outfit!

Have a great new year celebration :D

    1. Thank you ^^ Usually people get surprised when I tell them that Tea is so old! Sometimes those who are not so familiar with dog breeds mistake her as a Collie puppy too, though she's actually a Shetland Sheepdog and an old lady already :D

Hahah I'm having similar thoughts XD Especially now that I don't have any work for a few weeks, I easily get in my lazy bun mode...

Hope you have a great new year celebration as well~ ♥

  4. Tea is such a pretty dog! I hope you can spend more time with her in the future x3

Sounds like you had a wonderful Xmas with your family, in my country it's kind of the same, less about gifts and more about spending time together!
Susumi looks very cute in all of those Christmas bows :3 and her outfit matches perfectly too! Too bad you couldn't take more photos @o@ ~ it's always so disappointing when something fairly new breaks, isn't it?

Hope the new year will be even better than last year~ time flies indeed!

    1. Thank you~ I really hope so ^^

I think here Christmas presents are more of a thing for families with small children, for adults it's more about spending time with the family. I do remember that as a kid I was always most excited about the presents, but now I've learned to cherish the time spent together instead of the presents!

Thanks so much, Susu was quite happy to get a new outfit~ ♥ The camera charger was bought only a year ago, so it was quite a surprise that it broke... Luckily it has a 3-year guarantee! I got a new charger on Monday, yay~

It surely does! Hope you have a great new year celebration ^3^

  5. Well it looks like you had a fun time Safir, it's nice to receive presents, but even better to give and spend time with family. I have always thought Christmas was for children and when you get to our age it's difficult to know what to purchase for each other. My kids got gift cards for their favourite stores this year and from them we received gift cards for the theatre which we always use. :)
Lovely to see photos of Tea, we never get enough pics of man's best friend . . . I love dogs!!
Hope you have a wonderful New Year and your right this one flew by!
    Hugs,
    X

    1. I agree, as a child I was always the most excited about the Christmas presents, but now as an adult I don't care so much for the presents anymore and instead look forward to the time being spent together with my family :) It can be really hard and stressing to figure out what to purchase for everyone indeed. Gift cards are great presents!

Tea is definitely my best friend, I got her when I was 14 so she's been there for me through many ups and downs :3 We also had a dog when I was smaller (he died when I was 9), but Tea was my first own dog and very special.

Thank you, hope you have a happy New Year as well ^^

  6. I love the outfit you've chosen for Susumi! It's indeed very Christmas-y :3
I don't really get presents either. This year I got one from my best friend and that was it. I don't mind. We've decided to stop though, since neither of us really want to celebrate Christmas >w<
Your dog is so cute! Such a beauty <3 One of my dogs are 12 years old, so she's getting blind :( Sadly, it's part of life.
Glad you had a nice time! :D

      Yeah, I think Christmas presents are more for smaller kids and less for adults. I always have such a hard time trying to figure out what I could get for my parents and brother unless they've wished for something specific, so I often end up not getting anything. My parents insist on getting something for me and my brother every year though ^^;

      Tea is quite sharp for such an old lady, besides the problems with her hearing and teeth you wouldn't guess that she'll be 11 soon! Sorry to hear that about your dog :( I keep fearing if Tea is going to get some eye issues at some point too or some illness that couldn't be treated... It's a part of life, but still makes me so sad ;___;

    1. Kiitoksia kehuista ja rapsuista <3 Rauhallinen leidi hän on kyllä, vaikka välillä innostuukin juoksentelemaan ja leikkimään kuin pikkupentu~

  8. Oh it looks like much fun was had! Isn't it great when our family supports our doll hobbies? My in-laws are pretty neat like that but my own family, not so much.

Gorgeous photos as always. Your dog is just adorable. She looks a little bored there or maybe she's just relaxed!

    1. Yup definitely! My family used to be against the doll hobby when I first talked about them back in 2007, but after I got my first dolls and showed them to my parents, they slowly started to understand more and realized that it's quite an artistic hobby and important to me.

Thanks so much! She's actually being quite sharp there, my mom was preparing the Christmas dinner in the kitchen and Tea was looking at her in hopes that maybe something yummy would accidentally drop on the floor XD

  9. Kiva kuulla että joulu meni mukavasti. :) Susumi on todella suloinen ja erityisesti jouluinen asussaan ja ruseteissaan. <3 Ihanan lämpimänsävyinen tuo peruukkikin, sopii joulukuviin mainiosti.

Voi, suloinen Tea! <3 Teasta katselee aina kuvia mielellään. :)

  10. Such a cute dog! *^^*
Tea has a beautiful colouring I think :D

Christmas is awesome! Just being together with your family, eating delicious foods and treats and just talk and relax together ^^

I love your photos of Susumi. That wig is gorgeous on her :D

    1. Thank you ^3^ I really like her colouring~ It has changed a bit during the years, but her fur has always been super pretty!

Yup, being together with the family on Christmas is the best! ♥ I'm not a big fan of the Finnish traditional food, but it's still nice to eat it once in a year.

      Thanks so much~
